Sicker Than Others Saving the Landfills, one Giant Plastic Toy At a Time

Bad Things

02.13.2008 · Posted in Day To Day

The right side of my face is swollen to what would be a comical level, if I wasn’t in so much pain. Swallowing is impossible, and I can’t even fit the width of one finger into my mouth. My poor jaw won’t open. Today I had to hiss all my discipline through gritted teeth.

This may be a recurrence of the Amazing Sideways Wisdom Tooth, which tried in vain to break through when I was 16. I was instructed to run, not walk, to an oral surgeon for tooth removal back then, but what 16 year old do you know who’d sign up for that? So I didn’t. Maybe I have a simple strep infection, or maybe I’m paying for my teenaged fear. Either way, I’m a bear to be around and a real treat to look at.

You’d think that since my hands are obviously unaffected, I’d be able to post more. Able, yes. Inspired, no.

  1. If you do decide to have it removed, I know an oral surgeon who is fantastic. He’s so good, you actually won’t mind having him dig around in your mouth. And you won’t feel anything for at least 2 days afterwards. Let me know if you need his number.
/sending mental Vicodin your way ;)

  2. Oh no!! Vibing you hard for some relief!!
